Sharon Chohi Kim specializes in contemporary opera, experimental voice and vocal improvisation. She was featured in The New York Times, The New Yorker and The Los Angeles Times for performing operatic singing as well as extended vocal technique in her role as Wiindigo in The Industry's opera Sweet Land. She also performed the role of Hungry Ghost in Meredith Monk's acclaimed opera Atlas with the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Other performances include the role of Lucha in The Industry's world premiere of Hopscotch and the West Coast premiere of Sila: The Breath of the World by John Luther Adams. She has also performed with Los Angeles Opera Company, the Broad Museum, Four Larks, Getty Villa, MOCA, REDCAT, Dorothy Chandler Pavilion and Walt Disney Concert Hall. She has toured Canada and the UK singing experimental music. As a composer, Sharon cowrote the opera Unseal Unseam. Sharon is a company member of the groundbreaking Industry Opera Company.
