Wilma Wever (B.M., M.A.) appeared in the title role in the world premiere of Jocasta by Ruth Schonthal in NYC. The New York Times called her "attractive and engaging." She debuted with Encompass Opera in Henze's The End Of A World (Marchesa) and sang Ms. Edison in a reading of Tesla, an opera by Kievman with New York City Opera. In 2017, she performed Marthy Owen in Anna Christie by Edward Thomas with New American Opera Previews in collaboration with American Opera Projects. Other performed roles include, Ariadne in Ariadne auf Naxos, Leonore in Fidelio with Brooklyn Repertory Opera and Leonora in Verdi's Il Trovatorewith Espresso Opera, NYC. Ms. Wever won the Hunter Concerto Competition in 2008. Sheperformed numerous recitals in distinguished venues such as the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Holland and Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall. The Music Connoisseur called her a performer with "savvy and grit."
