Alexandria Douziech
Alexandria Douziech (She/Her)

Alexandria Douziech is an educator and artist, dedicated to creating inclusive and approachable environments within art institutions. She specializes in inquiry-based learning techniques that encourage analysis, reflection and in-depth discussion. Alexandria has worked in education throughout various museums in Los Angeles, including the California African American Museum and the Museum of Contemporary Art. As lead educator at MOCA, she oversaw adult education and initiated community programs to connect the museum with local nonprofits such as the Downtown Women's Shelter, My Friend's Place and Skid Row Housing Trust. Additionally, she is the founder of the Center for Plants and Culture as well as an education consultant for the Underground Museum, where she designs tours and trains docents on artists, artworks, theory and art movements. Alexandria has had artist talks at the Caribbean Women for Climate Justice (CW4CJ) Convention, Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI), University of Memphis and Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, along with a solo exhibition at the UCLA Mildred E. Mathias Botanical Garden entitled "Whitewashed Botany." Alexandria's knowledge of art history is enhanced by years of teaching drawing and painting as well as her own ongoing artistic practice.
