Gayle Samuels recently appeared on Broadway in Ohio State Murders directed by Kenny Leon starring Audra MacDonald. She also just returned from Australia starring in A Raisin In The Sun at the Sydney Theatre Company. Other Broadway credits include Children of a Lesser God, Sunset Boulevard, Grind and Dancin' and Off Broadway she recently appeared in Demons as Mama, played Gloria in Sistas, Ronnette in Little Shop of Horrors and starred in The Dark Star from Harlem playing Josephine Baker. She received a Best Actress nomination from the Connecticut Critics Circle for her portrayal of Billie Holiday in Lady Day at Emerson's Bar & Grill. Regionally, Gayle has appeared on stages at The Guthrie, The Alliance Theatre, Goodspeed Opera House, Florida Repertory Theatre, Cincinnati Playhouse, Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, Pioneer Theatre, Artists Repertory Theatre and internationally Gayle starred in Russia in Sophisticated Ladies and toured the world as a featured vocalist with Harry Belafonte. Television and Film credits include Queens, The Equalizer, The Flight Attendant, Girls5eva, Blue Bloods, Bull, Madam Secretary, The Americans, Bound, Black Nativity and she won a Best Supporting Actress award for the independent film American Wisper.


Gayle was the Segment Casting Coordinator for HBO's Notes From the Field by Anna Deavere Smith and was the Associate Casting Director for the Grammy Award winning Broadway hit, Smokey Joe's Cafe, directed by Jerry Zaks as well as Twist, directed by Debbie Allen and the 20th Anniversary Tour of Jesus Christ Superstar.
