Freia Serafina (AEA, SAG-AFTRA) is an award-winning filmmaker, actor, model, and writer. Her work has been seen on OITNB, The Perfect Murder, NBCU, and additional film, television, commercial, and theatrical work. She is currently completing a PhD in Religion and Philosophy with a focus in Women's Spirituality at the California Institute of Integral Studies and expects to complete my degree requirements in May of 2023. She has a Master of Fine Arts in Film with a focus in Screenwriting and a Master of Art in Theatre. Her MFA thesis focused on feminist film theory and depictions of the monstrous woman in the horror and thriller genre and queried how to better demonstrate violence on screen. Her MA in Theatre thesis focused the elements of magic and occult objects in Shakespeare's work and how those references were drawn directly from popular culture and societal belief systems during his time. In her research, she am committed to finding the connections between culture, belief, and the performing arts. Freia has been a Professor and Teacher of Visual and Performing Arts for over 7 years.
