AMDA alumnus Christopher Jackson is an award-winning, multi-hyphenate performer and creator, perhaps best known for his starring role as George Washington in the Broadway musical phenomenon, Hamilton. Christopher earned a Tony Award nomination and a Grammy Award for his performance in that role. Christopher had previously performed on Broadway in Freestyle Love Supreme, Holler if Ya Hear Me, After Midnight, The Bronx Bombers (Derek Jeter), In The Heights (Benny), Memphis (Delray Farrell) and The Lion King (Simba). Off-Broadway credits include Working; Bronx Bombers; The Jammer; Lonely, I’m Not; In the Heights; and Cotton Club Parade.
Christopher currently stars in the hit CBS drama “Bull,” as Chunk Palmer, a stylist who prepares defendants for trial. Christopher’s previous television work includes many critically-acclaimed and popular series, such as Ava DuVernay’s Netflix miniseries “When They See Us,” “The Lion Guard,” “The Good Wife,” “Person of Interest,” “A Gifted Man,” “White Collar,” “Nurse Jackie,” “Gossip Girl,” and HBO’s decorated drama series “Oz.” Christopher’s film credits include Tracers, After.Life., and Disney’s Moana, for which he also recorded an original song written by Lin-Manuel Miranda.
Christopher was a composer and songwriter for “Sesame Street” (earning an Emmy Award for his song “What I Am” with Will.I.Am) and co-music supervisor and writer for “The Electric Company” (PBS).
In 2010 Christopher released his first solo album In The Name Of Love with Yellow Sound Lab Records. Christopher stars in the documentary feature We Are Freestyle Love Supreme, coming to Hulu in June, as well as in the filmed version of Broadway’s Hamilton, scheduled for a July release on Disney+.
