Anthony Ramos selected to Forbes 30 Under 30 list

Forbes presents the Class of 2016: 600 of the brightest young entrepreneurs, breakout talents and change agents in 20 different sectors. Leading the way in the Hollywood and Entertainment category is AMDA’s own Anthony Ramos due in equal parts to his breakout performance in Hamilton and his amazing talent.

Broadway

Tommaso Antico (Integrated) is on Broadway in Jersey Boys playing “Hank Majewski” and is also in the ensemble.

Charity Dawson (Integrated) has been added to the cast of Waitress playing “Becky”.

Anastacia McCleskey (Integrated) has also been added to the cast of Waitress performing in the ensemble.

Off-Broadway

Emily Padgett (Integrated) is playing “Helene” in Sweet Charity. Opening night is this Sunday, November 20 at the Romulus Linney Courtyard Theatre.

National Tour

Olivia Washington (Music Theatre BFA) will be performing in Nickelodeon’s first ever live tour “Paw Patrol”. She will be touring to 90 cities across the United States, Canada and Mexico including nine shows at Madison Square Garden.

Housso Semon (Integrated) will be on the National Tour of Pippin in the role of “Leading Player.” She is also joined by alumni Reginald Bromell (Integrated) and Ishmael Edwards (Integrated) who are both members of the ensemble. The tour begins in January 2017.

Eastern Regional Theatre

Kyle Taylor Parker (Integrated) is in Finian’s Rainbow as “Gospeleer” through December 18 at Irish Rep Theatre.

Richard Stillman (Integrated) performed in The Legend of Sleepy Hollow on October 29 at the Duchess Community College in Poughkeepsie, NY.

Central/Western Regional Theatre

Matthew Malecki (Music Theatre BFA) will be playing the role of “Eynsford Hill” in My Fair Lady at the Welk Resort Theatre in Escondido from January 6 – April 2, 2017.

Lamont Brown (Dance Theatre) will be performing in the Marriott Theatre production of Singin’ In the Rain through December 31 in Lincolnshire, IL.

Rachel Brooks Gullickson (Integrated) will be playing the role of “Eliza Dolittle” in My Fair Lady at Sheboygan Theatre Company in Wisconsin from December 2 through December 10.

Gina Omilon (Acting BFA) and Phoebe Tweddle (Studio) both performed in a Ten Minute Play Festival at The Underground Theatre in God in the Goat on November 11-13.

Film/TV

Connor Kirsch (Integrated) is the lead role in the feature film “Mischief Night” which will be streaming on Netflix in November.

Pablo Castelblanco (Studio) was a guest star in the FOX show “Scream Queens” which aired on November 1.

Dakota Wollmer (Studio) is in an upcoming web series “DysFUNctional” as the lead.

Music

Anthony Ramos (Integrated) has a song on “Broadway’s Carols for a Cure” album titled “I Can See the Light”.

Noa Carmel Klein (Integrated) has been nominated for Best Lead Actress in a Musical for her role as “Wendla Bergmann” in Spring Awakening by Broadway World’s Orlando Theatre Awards. [vote]

Other Notable Performances

Jason Derulo (Integrated)is set to perform at the Nickelodeon HALO (“Helping and Leading Others”) Awards which will be held at New York’s Pier 36 and will be simulcast Sunday, November 27 at 7:00 PM across Nickelodeon, TeenNick and Nicktoons.

Chandra Lee Schwartz (Integrated) and J. Elaine Marcos (Integrated) will take the stage for two nights at the El Portal Theatre for Broadway to the Rescue’s third benefit concert on December 1 and 2 at 7:00 PM.

Krystal Joy Brown (Integrated) performed in the 46th Minute Concert 2016 at the 28th Annual Festival of New Musicals which took place on October 26 at New World Stages in NYC.
