Remembering Beloved AMDA LA Faculty Member, Stu Levin

Stu joined our AMDA family right at the very beginning of AMDA LA in the Fall of 2003. And by the end of that semester, he had already become an iconic figure for us all. Through his stellar career as an actor, interviewer, host, director, and producer, Stu had done everything one could do in the “business” and knew everyone there was to know. Stu then entered a new phase of his life at AMDA: extraordinary teacher to literally thousands of our AMDA students. Even though his accomplished career spanned decades, he came to his AMDA teaching with humility and a huge open heart for all those he taught. His great love was for his students and preparing them to thrive in the performing arts industry – always dispensing his wisdom seasoned with his unique wit and dry humor.

It seems impossible that Stu is gone. Our hearts are with the two extraordinary, beautiful loves of Stu’s life – his wife, Carol, and his daughter, Deborah. We will be vigilant and keep Stu’s magnificent spirit, his extraordinary intelligence, and his grit for getting the job done close to our hearts. Stu was a gift to us all and we are grateful for all he shared.
